Kavac Ecological Camp
Near the base of the table mountain Auyantepui you find the Kavac ecological Camp run by the indigenous community of Kamarata. The camp has about 20 churuatas (small huts) built in a traditional style of the indigenous population The Pemóns. Here you are kindly treated by the Pemones living in the area.
The start of this tour is carried out from the Canaima airport in a small aircraft flying over the Auyantepuy plateau where you will see the Angel Falls on your flight to the Kamarata area, we will land on the landing strip of Kavak Indian village, from here we will make a 20 minutes walk through the savannah with forest and jungle until we reach the entrance of the Cave of Kavak where you will see a small creek giving you a chance to have a refreshing swim. We continued walking along the little river and we will arrived at the Kavac Cannon, the deepest and biggest part of the cave, here you find an impressive waterfall with its lagoon for swimming and having fun, after that we will return to the camp where lunch is waiting for us.
The attraction of this tour is the visit to the impressive cave of Kavak which has river, lake and cascade inside. These caves have apoximadamente about 1200-1600 million years old and his mystical combination and design make it one of the most whimsical and unexpected in a geological fault from prehistory to decorate with water making it and turned into a form curioza cave.
It is recommended to bring: A small moral, shorts, bathing suit, shorts, shirts, hats, shoes (not new and improved waterproof) needed to walk by the river, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, plastic bags to protect clothing and the camera.
